For all my complaints about the defiant three's, I have to say, I love this age. I remember how I used to wonder just what it would be like to have actual conversations with my little munchkin and now that time is here. He tells me when he is scared, he tells me why he is happy, he even worries about his dear old Mom. When I was recovering from surgery, he said, "Mommy, does your boo boo on your neck hurt?" We were walking outside after a snow storm the other day and he told me he wanted me to be careful so I wouldn't fall. His compassion for his brother is amazing as well. The other morning while I was making his breakfast, in the middle of watching Pinky Dinky Doo, he turned to me and said, "I have to check on my Wessie-Poo." and proceeded to run into our room to look at Wesley while he was sleeping in his co-sleeper. He even had his finger to his little mouth to remember to be quiet.
Another great thing about Isaiah we recently learned is that he is an artist! He draws faces, cats, trees, the sun... and all of his preschool teachers have told us that his work is advanced for a three year old. One of his teachers said that he never saw the type of stuff Isaiah draws in a three yr old room! I am so proud of him for so many reasons but this talent is especially dear to me because both of my brothers are big artists. They used to draw comic books as kids. In fact, my family and I set up a memorial scholarship at Tommy's elementary school in the form of a comic art competition! We just finished judging entries from the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Isaiah definitely has some of his uncles in him!
Richard and I used to talk about the paths we wanted him to take - ya know... doctor, lawyer, CEO... but as he grows, I realize more and more that Isaiah will become exactly who he is meant to be. He is becoming that person every day. I am just so proud to witness it every day. He is such a great helper and a real little buddy. He is an awesome big brother and just overall, a great kid. I am so proud to be his Mommy.

I love how you caught their expressions- the munchkins are so very special.Guess who!
And I'm proud to be the uncle to two amazing little guys. Isaiah will make a splendid addition to the Big Brothers club, otherwise known as "the Golden Child elite"
This is off-topic, but our little ones are *totally* getting cheated out of their 7-month "birthday" this month! :)
Your boys are so cute. And I can't believe Isaiah is such a big boy already! I've been reading your blog since he was a little baby!
@Robyn, I know! I guess we celebrate on the 1st?
