Really, weatherman?!?
Hubby came in from trying to dig out our cars out a few hours ago and just shook his head unable to find the words. I just made him some tea and wrapped him a big blanket (big baby lol). I feel so blessed that my family is inside, warm, fed and with power! For some reason, I have been really concerned about the fed part. I made enough rice and peas today I can feed my whole neighborhood. Now I am baking a strawberry cake. What is it about being trapped inside that makes me want to feed and be fed?
The snow has also made for some absolutely beautiful (though sometimes scary) scenery. I took these pictures from the balcony and deck of our fourth floor apartment. We have been house hunting since January and I must say - I am sort of happy we haven't found anything yet! I don't know how we would deal with having to shovel anything more the spaces around our cars.

The weatherman must have been out of his/her mind. Did they ever hear the words "state of emergency?" That's no joke - wishing for a record! Talk about being off-base! Idiot.
Although I have to say that your pictures are beautiful (as long as you don't have to shovel, walk in, or dig your car out of the snow. The cozy part with lots of food sounds especially nice. Stay warm, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson (Grandma's Baby).
Wow! I must say I'm jealous of all the snow you guys got. We're just a couple of hours south of you, but the climate down here is totally different. We got some rain, and maybe an inch or two of snow. I feel like we were deprived of all the fun!
Oh, such incredibly beautiful snow pictures! They almost want me to move back to where we moved from, and where we could go cross-country skiing almost every weekend for 3 months out of the year. But then I remember having to cancel fun events because of impassible roads, 10 days without electricity after a big storm, with darkness, no phone, warm water or meals, and cold, cold, cold, and I'd rather stick to the good memories instead of ever moving back.
I hope you and your loved ones are safe and warm and cozy and happy and have lots of comfort food and hot chocolate to get through this weekend.
Mama
The scenery is beautiful. I haven't had a good snowball fight since we left NYC 6 years ago...to that end I haven't had a perfectly gorgeous pair of boots ruined either!
Unbelievable! I'm looking at the car photos and it's mind-boggling! Stay warm.
