Sad Isaiah...

Okay, well I have a confession. Isaiah hates when I sing his name in a high pitched voice. I did it once in an effort to distract him into calming him down and he screamed his head off. But, before Isaiah starts crying he pokes his lower lip out and it is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen. So, my confession - I purposely sing his name in my operatic voice just to see the lip. Not all the time-- just some times. I took some pictures this time just so I could capture it and I wouldn't be forced to do such a horrible thing anymore. Let's hope I didn't already give him a reason for therapy.

Anyway - to the topic at hand - Isaiah is what you would call a "good baby." Once he is out at night, he is out! He sleeps anywhere from 6-8 hours before he wakes up to be fed and then sleeps another 4-5 hours before waking up for the day. Yet, in still the enigma lies in getting him to the point. Some nights he likes to be rocked, other nights he likes to be strapped into his baby bjorn and fall asleep with me doing chores, and sometimes a nice warm bath will knock him right out. When he was smaller, it was all about the ABC's. He could be screaming his head off but the minute you started the "A", Isaiah was quiet as a mouse. Lately, its all about Old McDonald if you even start the ABC's when he is fussy he gives you the "If I could walk, I would kick your ass" look. Sometimes, he just wants to nurse - even with a full belly. Other times, he looks at my bare breast like a bomb about to hit his village. Tonight, it was the bath and rocking. Where is the lesson here! Who knows? I think its just a little reminder that these little ones are little people as finicky as the rest of us. What makes it worse - they have no way of communicating but to scream their little heads off. I am positive it was love at first sight for Isaiah and I -- but we still have to get to know each other.
