Last night, my husband was convinced Isaiah said his first word. While getting him to go to sleep, I was talking to him. I said - "Can you say your name?" and I sang, "Iiiii---saaaaaiii--ahhhhh!" He responded with a shockingly similar three syllable coo that sounded strangely like his name. Now, this is not the first time Richard has thought Isaiah has said something. Once he sneezed and Richard was CONVINCED, Isaiah followed his sneeze with an "Ooh Boy!". Now, I know Isaiah is brilliant - and very advanced but what baby has said a whole phrase as his first word.
Well, last night - I still am not quite sure he was actually saying his name - but I was surprised by my reaction. I was excited but I also was terrified! I know Isaiah is a little person - but he is a babbling, cooing, "poop in a diaper" person. I remember the first time I noticed Isaiah watching me it was a similiar reaction. I was fixing my hair and I turned around to see him staring intently at me. I realized why they use kids in horror flicks... Okay, it wasn't quite that bad, but it was unexpected. We have a cat named Freddy - hearing Isaiah speak was almost as shocking as if one day when I said my obligatory, "How was your day, Freddy?" upon coming home from work if Freddy were to reply, "Fine. How was yours?"
Okay, so Isaiah is not a cat... and he will speak -- eventually... in fact, I can't wait for him to speak - I just didn't know it may be his own name at 11 weeks old! Or not... we are his parents, we think he can laso the moon.
